The weather was much better in game number two at PNC Park Saturday night as the Pirates defeated the Braves 6-4.
Overall, it was a sloppy game by both teams as they combined for three errors, 10 walks, three passed balls, 21 hits and four unearned runs. The Braves started the scoring in the second inning as they loaded the bases against Pirates starter Chad Kuhl and Braves knuckleballer RA Dickey helped his own cause with a two-run single on a cue shot to right field. The Pirates intentionally walked Kurt Suzuki to face Dickey, but the move did not pay off.
The Pirates (2-2) responded with two runs in the bottom of the second and added two more in the third inning to take a 4-3 lead. Two of the four runs were unearned runs thanks to some sloppy defense by Atlanta. The Bucs added two more in the bottom of the 6th inning, finishing the scoring on Gregory Polanco‘s fourth hit of the night, an RBI single to make it 6-3.
