The rematch between these teams is set to take place at McKechnie field at 1:05PM today. Game temperature is set to be 81° with partly cloudy skies.

Juan Nicasio is set to take the mound. His spring has been very promising so far, as he’s pitched three innings of no run baseball. It’s going to be interesting to see how he performed over the next few weeks and if the Pirates do decide to stretch him out as a starter or keep him in the bullpen. The Rays will have Jake Odorizzi starting the game. Odorizzi is a solid pitcher who is coming off a season where he pitched 169 innings of 3.35 ERA baseball.

The lineup today features most of our everyday starters with a mix of players fighting for a bench spot. The Pirates depth this year seems to be at a surplus, which is always a good thing. After losing yesterday’s game, they have now fallen to a 2-7 record in the Grapefruit League.  Most of us know that Spring Training games, especially this early, don’t particular mean much, but it’s starting to get annoying not to tweet #raiseit as often as we all would like. Hopefully, the Pirates are getting past their ‘working on things’ stage and will be entering their ‘play like its a real game.’
