Pirates-Tigers Again

The Pirates and Tigers will meet for the second consecutive day, this time at the Pirates spring training home in Bradenton at 1:05PM.

Unlike yesterday’s lineup of mostly prospects, the big guns are out there today for their spring debut with Marte, McCutchen and Polanco all in the lineup. Josh Bell will DH and Jaso is playing first as the Bucs face Tigers right-hander Buck Farmer. Jeff Locke will be on the mound for the Bucs while Juan Nicasio, A.J. Schugel, Arquimedes Caminero, Jared Hughes, Eric O’Flaherty and Jorge Rondon are al scheduled to pitch as well.

At some point in this game, Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh will coach first base for the Tigers. Why? I can’t find one reason. Remember when Paul Maholm had to pitch to Bill Crystal in spring training like eight years ago? The circus is back and apparently they’ll let anyone get on the field for a headline. I’m surprised they don’t let Harbaugh get an at-bat in before the game is over since it’s so easy! You would never see this in preseason or exhibition in any other sport. What a joke.

Lineup:
Polanco  RF
Jaso  1B
McCutchen CF
Marte  LF
Stewart C
Rodriguez 3B
Bell  DH
Florimon SS
Hanson  2B
SP—Jeff Locke
