Pirates – Tigers

Today, the Detroit Tigers will host your Pittsburgh Pirates. The game will be held at Joker Merchant Stadium at 1:05PM. Game temperature looks to be 80° with mostly cloudy skies.

The Pirates are coming off of a win vs Tampa Bay. The pitching has shown to be productive while the bats can use a wake up call. Jeff Locke will be today’s starting pitcher. Much has been said about the new mechanics he is working on, and today will be one more outing to see this new and improved Jeff Locke. After a miserable first outing, he was able to follow it up by pitching three innings and allowing just two base runners.

Today’s lineup will mostly feature the reserves. It’s getting down to crunch time to determine who is going to fill out the bench. With the addition of David Freese, the battle for the remaining spots are even tighter, so it’ll be even more important for these players to show what they can do.

The Tigers will start newcomer, Mike Pelfrey.  Pelfrey, has worked his way back from injury but has yet to truly regain his form from the Mets days. The lineup looks to be locked and loaded from the Tigers as it features almost every starter. This should provide a good test for our defense and Jeff Locke.
