Pirates – Twins

After two straight meaningless losses, the Pirates will take on the Minnesota Twins in their 4th Spring Training game. The Pirates will host the Twins at McKechnie Field at 1:05 PM EST.

Francisco Liriano will take the mound against his former team vs. another southpaw in Tommy Milone. Liriano is coming off another solid year where he posted a 3.38 ERA and 205 strikeouts in just 186 innings. It’s no secret that Liriano has turned his career around for the best, and the Pirates will once again be leaning heavily on his success this season. Milone is hoping to build off of some success he sustained last year with the Twins as well.

There won’t be a former NFL coach in the dugout or an NHL Hall Of Fame announcer in the booth for this game, but with sunny skies and a temperature of 73°, it should still draw a nice crowd in Bradenton.   Today’s lineup will pretty much feature what our opening day lineup hopes to be with the exception of Figueroa in left field.  Though it is just spring training where players tend to work on things rather than take every at bat in-game serious, hopefully we will get to see the type of damage this lineup can do.
