The Pirates have tendered contracts to 34 players currently on the 40-man roster. Two players that weren’t tendered contracts were right-handed pitchers Osvaldo Bido and Hunter Stratton. According to Jason Mackey, the team hopes to bring both players back on minor-league contracts.

They also avoided arbitration with left-handed relief pitcher Ryan Borucki. Borucki had a really good season with the Bucs. He pitched 40.1 innings with a 2.45 ERA while striking out 33 hitters and walking only four. In a season that saw a significant need for a solid left-handed bullpen pitcher after losing free-agent signing Jarlin Garcia before the season even started, Ryan Borucki came through in a pretty big way. It’s now a certainty that he will be a part of the 2024 bullpen.
