You may dread this social media day or love it, but it is that time of year when Spotify and Apple Music release to their users their music summary. You might be actively avoiding Instagram right now or are critically analyzing every song on your playlist. Regardless of your feelings, chances are you are a listener to the North Shore Nine Podcast (maybe you’re an egotistical man like me and it was your most listened-to podcast). We at North Shore Nine wanted to take this opportunity to show our gratitude and appreciation to you all for helping us grow and provide all kinds of new content for you to enjoy. None of the things the podcast has been able to do this year is possible without your support and everyone at NS9 is deeply grateful y’all choose to listen to us.
Spotify gives podcasts their growth numbers from the previous year, and we wanted to share how much we have grown over the course of 2023. And to close things out, we will display our terrible music tastes at the end of the article so you can judge us immensely for being obsessed with Taylor Swift and Zach Bryan (or how Kenny manages to listen to THIRTEEN hours of music a day).

North Shore Nine saw an over 200% growth in listener base, over 140% increase in followers, and a staggering 376% growth in streams over the past year on Spotify alone. This kind of growth has allowed us to become associated with Bleav Network and get content created with great guests like Michael McKenry. We are excited to see how much more we can accomplish next year in becoming your main source for Pittsburgh Pirates’ information.
Enjoy the Spotify Wraps/whatever Apple Music’s ripoff version of this of everyone from NS9 (and everyone be sure to tag Ryan on Twitter for being a boomer and still using an mp3 player and not having one). Please let us know who has the best and worst music taste!
