The Dodgers came away this past weekend winning the Shohei Ohtani sweepstakes by signing him to a 10-year $700 million contract. This now awards him with the largest contract in North America sports. Anything of this magnitude needs to be spoken of, and that’s just what we do.

The Winter Meetings also wrapped up this past week, but that didn’t stop teams from the NL Central to cease with their 2024 plans. The Reds signed Jeimer Candelario and it has also been reported that the Brewers are leaning towards keeping Corbin Burnes this year opposed to trading him. With essentially every other team in the NL Central looking to compete, what does that mean for the Pirates?
