The Pirates have made a flurry of moves so far this offseason, but have any of them made a dent in their 2024 chances? Let’s take a look at how some futures bets are looking right now.
Win the World Series: +8000 ($10 pays $800)
At +8000, Vegas says the Pirates are the 24th most likely team to win the World Series.
Win the National League: +5000 ($10 pays $500)
Only the Nationals and Rockies have worse odds to win the senior circuit.
Win the National League Central: +2000 ($10 pays $200)
Every other team in the division’s odds are below +500. Safe to say that Vegas doesn’t see the Pirates having much of a chance here.
Win National League MVP
Oneil Cruz: +10000 ($10 pays $1000)
Bryan Reynolds: +16000 ($10 pays $1600)
Ke’Bryan Hayes: +18000 ($10 pays $1800)
Vegas likes Cruz’s odds to win this the most, but there are still 30 other players with better odds than him.
MLB Strikeout Leader – Mitch Keller: +7500 ($10 pays $750)
Keller is tied for 27th among most likely to lead the league in strikeouts. He finished with the 5th most strikeouts in the NL last season.
MLB Hits Leader
Bryan Reynolds: +10000 ($10 pays $1000)
Oneil Cruz: +15000 ($10 pays $1500)
Reynolds finished 6th in the NL in hits in 2021.
MLB Saves Leader – David Bednar: +1200 ($10 pays $120)
Bednar leads all Pirates in the best odds to win one of these awards. He finished tops in the National League last season in this category with 39. Only Emmanuel Clase topped him in the majors last year.
