Robert Murray of Fansided reported on his live show today that the Pirates have shown interest in free agent catcher, Gary Sanchez. The above video is queued up in the spot where he dives into this a bit.
Murray adds that he doesn’t believe anything is close, but he is certainly someone they like.
Gary Sanchez had a bit of an offensive resurgence last season and showed that the power he had while with the Yankees in the beginning of his career is still there.
We discussed this on this week’s Starbucs (link). With the Endy Rodriguez injury and the uncertainty surrounding Henry Davis, adding someone like Sanchez certainly makes sense.
