Roansy Contreras will make his first appearance following a disappointing 2024 campaign. Contreras needs to show improvement this spring, as he has no minor league options remaining. Other probable pitchers for the Pirates include Braxton Ashcraft, Wily Peralta, and Sean Sullivan.

Meanwhile, the lineup has many players who are involved in position battles. Nick Gonzales, Jared Triolo, and Ji Hwan Bae are competing for the starting job at second base. Henry Davis and Jason Delay are both competing for roster spots, as well as the role of starting catcher. Finally, Edward Olivares looks to earn the starting job in right field. On Saturday, Olivares tallied a 2-run triple against the Minnesota Twins.
