The Pirates look to start a winning streak against the Detroit Tigers after soundly defeating the Braves yesterday 13-4. The Tigers are sitting at an even .500 after 4 Spring Training games and the Pirates finally entered the win column to move to 1-3. The Pirates will send former top 100 prospect Quinn Priester to the mound to square off against the Tigers’ ace Tarik Skubal.

The Pirates will be featuring a lineup full of players who are actively fighting for one of the 26 roster spots on the Opening Day roster. Players like Nick Gonzales, Billy Mckinney, Alika Williams, Ji-Hwan Bae, Jared Triolo, and Jason Delay all need to prove themselves in Spring Training if they want a starting role on the 2024 Pirates. One of the Pirates’ top hitting prospects Tsung-Che Cheng will be making his first start in Spring Training.

The Pirates will throw the following pitchers in today’s Spring Training Game:
Quinn Priester
Jared Jones
Aroldis Chapman
Colin Holderman
Josh Fleming
Dauri Moreta
Brent Honeywell Jr.
