Pirates defeated the Blue Jays this afternoon at LECOM park by the score of 6-5.

Jared Jones started for the Pirates and pitched two very strong innings walking one and striking out one. Quinn Priester followed Jones with two innings of one run ball. Bailey Falter followed it up with another subpar outing giving up two over two. Brent Honeywell Jr.also struggled today giving up a pair of runs in 2/3 of an inning. Fortunately the Lumber Company showed up again today at the ballpark.

Oneil Cruz began the barrage smoking a near shoulder level offering into the stands. Pirates added their 2nd run in the seventh off a throwing error by Jays pitcher Ryan Jennings. Tsing-Che Cheng hit his second home run of the spring drawing the game level. In the 8th down two the Pirates broke through. Jace Bowen hit a Sac-Fly Double Play to score one. Then Liover Peguero stepped to the plate with one on and two outs. He finished the 3-homer barrage planting a ball 413 feet from home plate into the stands. Sean Sullivan came n and managed a scoreless inning for the win.

The Pirates return to action tomorrow against the Baltimore Orioles. The game will be at 6:05 PM at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota FL. Mitch Keller and Julio Teheran are the expected starters.
