It’s been almost two weeks now for Pirates Spring Training in Bradenton, FL, and a lot has happened so far. We have rumors swirling that prospect Jared Jones is actually battling for a rotation spot opposed to ultimately being sent down to Triple-A to ‘work on things’ as most prospects do this time of year.

The second base battle has been something to monitor and so far its been a pretty tight battle. Jared Triolo, Liover Peguero, and even Nick Gonzales have had a solid showing through the early part of March.

The Pirates just signed pitcher Eric Lauer to an MiLB deal and we also talk a little about him as well as the upcoming MLB Spring Breakout game between the Orioles and Pirates.
