The Pittsburgh Pirates lost 1-0 to the New York Yankees this afternoon. The Pirates are now 12-16 in Spring Training.

Martin Perez had another good start, providing three innings of scoreless ball. David Bednar followed Perez, allowing the sole run of the game. Aroldis Chapman also pitched, providing mixed results. His velocity was down, but he did provide a scoreless inning.

Offensively, not much of note happened for the Pirates. Andrew McCutchen, Ke’Bryan Hayes, and Jared Triolo were among those that tallied hits. The Pirates tallied five hits while being kept off the scoreboard.

The Pirates will face the Blue Jays tomorrow at 1:05. This will be the final game of Spring Training before the team heads to Miami for Opening Day.
