Spring Training is finally over and it ended with a victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. Marco Gonzales started and gave up 1 run in 3 innings on just 33 pitches.

Henry Davis opened the scoring with an RBI double in the 4th inning. Ke’Bryan Hayes added 2 hits to finish spring with an impressive .412 average.

Eric Lauer made his first appearance of the spring with two scoreless innings of relief as he will attempt to build himself up in hopes of being in the discussion for a future spot on the pitching staff.

Luis Ortiz, who has been deemed, “the bulk guy,” by Ben Cherington, gave up 1 run in an inning of relief. Ryan Borucki also gave up a run in relief before new bullpen mate, Ryder Ryan closed out his inning.

The Pirates will now head South (weird, right?) to start the season in Miami against the Marlins on Thursday. Mitch Keller will start against Jesus Luzardo.
