An exciting day for Pirate fans as #3 prospect Jared Jones will take the mound for his MLB Debut. Jones flashed 100mph velocity and a 0.00 ERA in Spring Training, which catapulted him into the rotation.

The Marlins will send their third consecutive lefty to the mound in Ryan Weathers. Weathers, the 7th overall pick of the 2018 MLB Draft, started his career with the Padres before being moved to Miami in a trade for Garrett Cooper.

Slightly surprising that Andrew McCutchen will sit against a lefty, however Jack Suwinski will get his first start of 2024.

Edward Olivares and Connor Joe will get some work against another lefty as Rowdy Tellez will sit. Olivares hit a home run on opening day against a left-handed pitcher, and collected a hit and a walk yesterday.

The Bucs will be hoping to get some good innings out of Jones, and then turn it over to their bullpen. The Pirate bullpen has come up huge so far, allowing only one run over 11 innings of relief.
