The Pittsburgh Pirates have traded recently DFAed Jackson Wolf to the San Diego Padres.

In return, they have received 22-year-old Kervin Pichardo. Pichardo has played second base, shortstop, and third base in the minors.

The highest he played in the minors was AA last year, which is also where the Pirates have assigned him to play.

The Pirates have now made two trades in the past week, dealing away potential depth starters. While it is yet to be seen who the return for JT Brubaker is, Ben Cherington clearly has a plan for his pitchers moving forward.
