Although the Pirates are seven-and-a-half games ahead of the Chicago White Sox, it’s hard not to feel like the team is currently at rock-bottom. The offense has struggled mightily since the middle of April and showed only feint signs of life last night with Oneil Cruz‘s two-run homer. This afternoon’s lineup features one notable change: Yasmani Grandal makes his debut with the Pirates after completing his rehabilitation stint at AAA.

Jared Jones takes the bump for the Pirates; in his last outing, Jones was roughed up for three earned runs over five innings, including two home runs. The Rockies send lefty Austin Gomber to the hill, who last pitched in homer-friendly Coors Field and gave up three home runs over seven innings to the Houston Astros.
