The Pirates led by Paul Skenes and 5 doubles, two each from Reynolds and Tellez to win 4-1 over the Reds. Pirates had 8 total hits on the night and minus the one run in the 1st off Skenes the staff looked good.

The first inning was full of doubles. Spencer Steer hit one in the top half off of Skenes to open the scoring 1-0. In the bottom half Bryan Reynolds and Rowdy Tellez doubled, though neither scored anyone. However Oneil Cruz singled in a pair and Ke’Bryan Hayes had an RBI groundout to make it 3-1 Pirates.

In the bottom of the 2nd the doubles parade continued as Andrew McCutchen hit a double then Reynolds hit his second making it 4-1 Pirates. I. The top of the 3rd Eloy De La Cruz hit, you guessed it, a double. However, Skenes was able to strand him at 2nd after back to back strikeouts to end the top of the frame. In the bottom of the frame, Tellez hit his 2nd double with one out. But was thrown out it on a Hayes grounder, after a De La Cruz error Jack Suwinski ground out to end the inning.

The 4th and 5th went by without incident, or any doubles. Both in the top of the 6th and 7th Pirates got in a bit if trouble. However, they were saved in part by a pick off in each inning and good pitching. On the offensive side the the ball the Pirates did nothing of note.
Colin Holderman came on and pitched a scoreless 8th. De La Cruz had singled and stolen his 37! Base on the year. However, a pop out and a Steer strikeout finished it off. The Pirates only managed a Hayes single in the 8th, leading to David Bednar and the top of the 9th. He pitched a quick 1-2-3 inning to finish the game and give the Pirates the win.
