What a rough start to City Connect Weekend.
The Bucs went with Carmen Mlodzinski as an opener again today. He looked okay, getting through the lineup once, allowing one run.
Luis Ortiz came in, got roughed up, and this game was an absolute hit parade for the Tampa Bay Rays, collecting 17 of them over nine innings. Josh Lowe was the main culprit.
Lowe collected three hits, including two home runs and 4 runs batted in.
Bryan Reynolds continued his hitting streak, moving it to 18 games with an 8th inning home run which ended up in the Allegheny River.
Nick Gonzales broke his mini-slump with a hit, a walk and a run scored. Gonzales also came close to a double, before Jose Siri made a sensational catch at full speed.
Overall, this was a terrible watch. As always though, after watching one of these bullpen games, we get to watch Jared Jones and Paul Skenes.
