The Pirates were shut out tonight, losing 9-0 to the Milwaukee Brewers. Martin Perez struggled, pitching just 4.2 innings and allowing 5 runs. The Brewers tallied 14 hits, including 7 extra-base hits.

Offensively, the Pirates managed just 4 hits and no runs, allowing Tobias Myers to pitch 8 innings. In the 7th inning, the Pirates’ offense showed a brief flash of life. Rowdy Tellez doubled, then Joshua Palacios singled to left field. However, Ke’Bryan Hayes followed Palacios with an inning-ending double play.

The Pirates will face the Brewers in a rubber match tomorrow at 2:10 P.M. ET. Paul Skenes will take the mound, facing off against Aaron Civale.
