The North Shore Nine crew was back for their fourth postgame show of the season, recapping yet another frustrating Pirates loss—this time a 3-2 walk-off defeat to the Marlins. Jim and Cody broke down a game that felt all too familiar, with Colin Holderman blowing another lead, David Bednar taking his second loss of the series, and the offense once again falling flat.
Ji Hwan Bae‘s disastrous pinch-running sequence took center stage as a symbol of the team’s lack of fundamentals and execution. Despite strong pitching—Andrew Heaney delivered a solid debut—the Pirates dropped three of four to open the year against a weak Miami team. There were a few bright spots, including Andrew McCutchen’s homer and Isiah Kiner-Falefa‘s surprisingly productive series, but the team’s offensive issues are becoming impossible to ignore.
