The NS9 Postgame Show Powered by Primanti Bros. broke down a deflating 6–1 Pirates loss to the Rays. Hosts DiNardo and Neil called the game a flashback to late-2024—uninspired, boring, and offensively lifeless.
Carmen Mlodzinski made his first start but fizzled after three strong innings, reinforcing the belief he belongs in the bullpen. Offensively, the Bucs were anemic, managing just one run and getting out-hit by ex-Pirate Jake Mangum alone. There were few bright spots, though Oneil Cruz continues to impress with improved plate discipline and five stolen bases in five games.
The guys also praised the bullpen for holding things together after Mlodzinski exited. Questions remain about tomorrow’s starter with fingers crossed for Thomas Harrington. The consensus? It’s early—but it sure doesn’t feel like a fresh season.
