The Pirates pulled off a gritty 1-0 win over the Nationals, and Cody and Ryan were back on the NS9 Postgame Show Powered by Primanti Bros. to break it all down.

Oneil Cruz provided the only offense with a towering solo shot in the first, while Andrew Heaney delivered his best performance yet in black and gold—tossing 7.1 scoreless innings and keeping a young Nationals lineup completely off balance. The bullpen followed suit, locking down the final five outs with ease and—dare we say—efficiency. Cody and Ryan also praised the Pirates’ defense, with standout plays from Ke’Bryan Hayes and Isiah Kiner-Falefa, and discussed how subtraction (David Bednar and Colin Holderman being out) may have actually improved bullpen usage.
