North Shore Nine

The Pirates dropped another lifeless game at PNC Park, falling 3-0 to the Guardians on Paul Skenes bobblehead day. While Skenes went seven strong innings and allowed just two runs, the offense gave him absolutely no help—again.

The lineup looked hopeless, going 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and featuring six starters hitting under .200. The guys break down what was one of Skenes’ “worst” outings—still a quality start for most pitchers—and how he continues to be let down by a team incapable of scoring. The show also digs into David Bednar’s shaky return, Tommy Pham’s continued struggles, and how the Pirates’ offensive woes stem not from bad luck, but from bad players.

There’s some love for Oneil Cruz, Enmanuel Valdez (pre-injury), and a glimpse of defensive promise from Henry Davis behind the plate, but overall it’s another brutal day for a club that looks completely lost.
