The Pirates’ season continues to spiral as they were swept by the Padres and fell to 12–23, prompting one of the most frustrated episodes of the North Shore Nine Postgame Show yet. Jim and Ryan break down the 4–0 loss, highlighting a dead offense that couldn’t take advantage of a pitcher with a 6+ ERA making his first MLB start.

Andrew Heaney struggled again, and while the bullpen turned in a strong performance, it was wasted by poor baserunning, mental errors, and another shutout loss—already their sixth of the season. The guys also zero in on the lack of accountability from manager Derek Shelton, question whether Ben Cherington’s job should be on the line, and call out the Pirates’ uninspiring, mistake-filled brand of baseball that’s turning fans away in early May.
