The Pittsburgh Pirates were unable to overcome their offensive woes as they fell to the St. Louis Cardinals, 5-0. The offense was non-existent for the Bucs, with just four hits throughout the game. Cody and Ryan from the NS9 Postgame Show summed it up perfectly, “Has anybody seen the Pirates’ offense? Is it still alive?”

The game’s script followed the all-too-familiar pattern: a lack of hitting combined with solid pitching from the opposing team. Mitch Keller, despite being one of the Pirates’ most reliable starters, gave up three runs, and that was all the Cardinals needed. The Pirates were unable to mount any significant offense, with no serious threat to the Cardinals’ lead.

In typical Pirates fashion, the offense’s failure doomed them once again. There were no timely hits, no rallies, just a silent lineup. As Ryan pointed out, “They’re on a milk carton.” With the Bucs now 12–26, it’s becoming clear that until the bats wake up, the losses will continue to pile up.

Stay tuned to the NS9 Postgame Show for more analysis on the Pirates’ ongoing struggles and what’s next for the team.
