The Pirates walked it off on Mother’s Day, topping the Braves 4–3 in dramatic fashion as Joey Bart delivered the game-winning hit in the ninth. Carmen Mlodzinski stole the show with his best start of the year, tossing 5.2 shutout innings and outdueling Chris Sale. With Oneil Cruz out, the offense looked shaky on paper but managed just enough — helped by timely hits, aggressive baserunning, and a double steal that led to the first run. The bullpen held strong until Tanner Rainey faltered, but Dennis Santana cleaned things up with yet another efficient outing.
