The Pirates almost made history—just not the kind anyone wants. On this episode of the NS9 Postgame Show powered by Primanti Bros, Neil and Doug react to an 8–5 loss to the Brewers that saw the offense narrowly avoid setting a modern-era record for the most consecutive games without scoring five runs. Mike Burrows made his 1st MLB start, bouncing back from a shaky first inning to show some real promise. Spencer Horwitz mashed his first homer as a Pirate, and Bryan Reynolds kept hitting. But once again, it wasn’t enough. The bottom of the lineup—Hayes, Frazier, Pham, IKF—was brutal, and poor bullpen timing (plus a rain delay fiasco) didn’t help. The guys vent frustrations with the front office’s veteran obsession, question Ben Cherington’s vision, and beg for answers—not just from the bats, but from the roster decisions up top.
