The latest episode of the NS9 Postgame Show powered by Primanti Bros was a tough one. Ryan and Doug recapped a frustrating 3-2 Pirates loss in San Diego—highlighted by yet another controversial strike call. Henry Davis worked a full count with the bases loaded in the 8th, only to get rung up on a brutal call that erased the game-tying run. Don Kelly got tossed defending his guy, and the Pirates went quietly after that. Mitch Keller turned in a solid outing but was let down by shaky defense and, once again, minimal run support. The guys didn’t hold back on Ke’Bryan Hayes’ continued offensive struggles, and questioned why no pinch hitters were used in a winnable 9th inning. All in all, it was a night of what-ifs.
