The Pirates exploded for eight extra-base hits and rode a strong Mitch Keller outing to an 8–5 win over the Tigers on Monday night. It marked Keller’s 15th quality start of the season—tying him for the MLB lead—as he showed off more pitchability than overpowering stuff and kept Detroit off-balance all evening. Spencer Horwitz, Tommy Pham, and Bryan Reynolds all notched three-hit games, while Oneil Cruz delivered one of the wildest plays of the year, scoring from second on an infield error as Spencer Torkelson casually wandered toward the ball. The bullpen mostly held firm, and David Bednar locked down his 15th straight save to seal it.
Doug and Tyler break it all down in this episode of the North Shore Nine Postgame Show—powered by Primanti Brothers—including Horwitz’s breakout, Cruz’s electricity, and the absolute absurdity of how often this team runs into outs on the bases.
