In a game that had everything — home runs, chaos, bullpen heroics, and drama to the final out — the Pirates escaped San Francisco with a 6 to 5 win, and Tyler and Neil were live postgame to break it all down.
Mitch Keller had his worst outing in nearly two years, lasting just two innings and throwing 73 pitches. But the bullpen picked him up in a big way. Génesis Cabrera, Yohan Ramirez, Isaac Mattson, Dennis Santana, and David Bednar combined to hold the Giants to just one run over the final seven frames.
Andrew McCutchen delivered the big swing with a go ahead two run homer in the sixth, adding another milestone to his Hall of Fame resume. Nick Gonzales also went deep, Tommy Pham stayed hot, and Liover Peguero made a diving play at first base.
It was not clean. It was not pretty. But it was fun — and it was a win.
