The Pirates avoided a sweep in Colorado, taking down the Rockies 9–5 in a wild Coors Field finale. Mitch Keller cruised early with a sharp sweeper before a rough sixth inning saw three straight homers cut the lead to 8–5. Thankfully, Carmen Mlodzinski shut things down with two clutch innings, and the bullpen combined for four scoreless frames.

Offensively, Spencer Horwitz stole the show — six RBIs, two homers, and a double — making history with back-to-back games of 5+ RBIs from a Pirates leadoff hitter (after Liover Peguero’s big day Saturday). Nick Gonzalez chipped in four hits, and Tommy Pham stayed hot with another homer.

Despite the win, the Pirates dropped two of three to MLB’s worst team, blowing leads in the first two games. Still, they leave Denver with an offensive surge and some individual bright spots.
