The Pirates’ trip to Milwaukee continued its misery with a lifeless 7-1 loss to the Brewers, and the North Shore Nine Postgame Show didn’t hold back. Tyler and Neil tore into another frustrating night of bad pitching, weak hitting, and head-scratching roster decisions. Andrew Heaney’s short, ugly outing — just four innings — drew most of the heat, with both hosts calling for Bubba Chandler to take his rotation spot. The offense wasn’t any better, managing only three hits and one run on a Joey Bart homer. Position shuffling was baffling, with players scattered out of position while legitimate options sat. The guys also used the game as another indictment of Ben Cherington’s tenure, contrasting the Pirates’ ineptitude with the Brewers’ competent roster-building. Even the lone bright spot, Chase Shugart’s three innings of relief, came with a caveat of defensive miscues behind him.
