The Rockies had no answers against Pittsburgh’s young pitching all series, scoring just one run across four games as arms like Skenes, Ashcraft, Chandler, and Burrows showed off the future of this rotation.
Offensively, Jared Triolo continued his late-season surge, delivering a three-run homer that proved to be the difference. IKF added an RBI double, while veterans like Andrew McCutchen and Bryan Reynolds chipped in. The offense didn’t need to do much—just enough to back another lights-out pitching performance.
The win pushed the Pirates to 57-74 and marked their 16th shutout of the year, an MLB-best.
