After one series, Bucco Brew came away with a pretty balanced first impression of the 2026 Pirates. The big positive was the offense looking more alive, especially with Brandon Lowe and Ryan O’Hearn immediately making an impact and showing the kind of power this lineup has badly needed. The frustration, though, was familiar: the Pirates created chances, but they still struggled to cash in with runners in scoring position. Anthony DiNardo and Jim Rosati also spent time breaking down Carmen Mlodzinski’s first start, which was encouraging enough to at least feel better about him holding down that fifth starter role for now. On the other side, the bullpen’s stuff flashed, but the walks remain something to watch closely. The episode also touched on Jim’s weekend in Indianapolis, where Konnor Griffin continues to be a major storyline for Pirates fans.
