Opening Day gave the Pirates and NS9 plenty to unpack. Anthony DiNardo and Dougie Fresh reacted to an ugly 11-7 loss to the Mets, headlined by Paul Skenes’ shortest outing, Oneil Cruz’s costly defensive mistakes, and a bullpen that never found its footing. Still, the guys found a few reasons not to panic, including big offensive days from Brandon Lowe and Ryan O’Hearn, plus early signs this lineup could be more dangerous than last year’s. It was frustration, therapy, and cautious optimism all rolled into one very first postgame show of 2026.
