North Shore Nine (“NS9,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices when you use the North Shore Nine mobile app.
1. Information We Collect
The App offers both guest access (no account required) and optional user accounts with community features.
Information You Provide:
When you create an account or use community features, we may collect your email address (if signing up with email), username, profile photo, game chat messages, community posts, reactions, votes, predictions, and win picks.
Information Collected Automatically:
Device name and platform (iOS/Android) for push notification delivery; Expo push notification token; precise location only when using the “I Was There” game-day check-in to verify proximity to PNC Park; profile photos uploaded for your avatar; points, activity history, and leaderboard rankings.
Stored Locally on Your Device Only:
App preferences, cached content, and local attendance log — never sent to NS9 servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate the app, maintain your account and community activity, send push notifications you opt into, verify your location for check-in, track leaderboard standings, and improve app performance.
3. Third-Party Services
The app integrates with YouTube, MLB Stats API, FanGraphs, Supabase, podcast platforms, and NorthShoreNine.com. Those services have their own privacy policies. Sign-in with Apple or Google is governed by their respective policies.
4. Data Sharing
NS9 does not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the app (Supabase for storage, Expo for push notifications), when required by law, or in a business transfer.
5. Push Notifications
If you grant permission, we store your push token and device name to deliver alerts based on your notification preferences. You can change preferences in the app or your device settings at any time.
6. Location
Precise location is requested only for the “I Was There” check-in feature and is not collected in the background or shared with third parties.
7. Camera and Photos
Camera access is used only for the in-app selfie feature. Selfies are saved to your device only and not uploaded to NS9 servers. Profile photos you upload are stored in NS9’s secure storage.
8. Data Security
We use HTTPS/TLS for all data transmission and Supabase’s secure infrastructure for storage. We do not store raw passwords.
9. Data Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. To request deletion, contact info@northshorenine.com.
10. Children’s Privacy
The app is not directed toward children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
11. Your Choices
You may use the app without an account, disable notifications, revoke location/camera permissions in device settings, or delete the app to remove local data. To access, correct, or delete your account data, contact info@northshorenine.com.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted with an updated effective date.
