January 15th marks the date that teams are eligible to sign international free agents, and tracking has already begun. Many of these were already known, as deals can be made years in advance before candidates can officially sign. The most notable signings are Brailyn Brazoban (#12 international prospect per Baseball America), Abdiel Feliz (#32), Kendric Herrera (#79), and Irwin Ramirez (#91). The Pirates secured 2 top 50 prospects in the signing period. The Pirates have had a heightened interest in their international signings, and have cast a wide net the past 2 years. This class will join the 25 international players signed in 2023.
