Canaan Smith-Njigba is going to the Seattle Mariners, per reports. In 18 MLB games with the Pirates, Smith-Njigba slashed .135/.250/.243. Smith-Njigba was acquired from the Yankees in 2021 as part of the Jameson Taillon trade.

Smith-Njigba heads to the same city as his brother, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
