Joey Bart continued his torrid start to his Pirates career with a 3-run home run in the 1st inning to jump on Brewers’ ace, Freddy Peralta. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough as the Pirates let the Milwaukee come from behind in the 8th inning to grab a split of the four game series.

Mitch Keller started for the Pirates and was shaky through five innings. The defense didn’t do him any help as both Jack Suwinski and Bryan Reynolds couldn’t corral balls that would have saved at least two runs.

Even with the shaky pitching and defense, the Pirates had a lead in the 8th inning until Gary Sanchez hit this pitch for a 2-run home run to take the lead. Sometimes hitters just win and Gary Sanchez won this one.

The Pirates now head west to face the Giants and the A’s for six games and sit right at .500 at 13-13. Quinn Priester will take on Kyle Harrison at 10:15pm tomorrow night.
