Quinn Priester was nothing short of fantastic in what was undoubtedly his best start as a Pirate.

Priester finished with 6 IP, 0R/ER, 6K, 3H, 1BB. You can see some of his work below:

This was an old-fashioned pitchers dual between Quinn Priester and Kyle Harrison. Both pitchers worked very quick, and neither surrendered a run.

This game came down, as many do, to situational baseball and who can execute when it matters most.

Both teams had runners on second and third with no one out against the other team’s all-star closer.

The Pirates could not scratch across a run, as Rowdy Tellez struck out, Andrew McCutchen walked to load the bases, and Bryan Reynolds grounded into an inning ending double play.

David Bednar came in to try and get the Pirates to the tenth inning. After allowing a walk and a single to Michael Conforto and Matt Chapman, Patrick Bailey launched the decisive 3-run home run over the tall right field wall.

The Pirates will be back in action against the Giants at 9:05 pm EST.
