Jared Jones didn’t seem to have his best stuff today, but still got through 5 innings, allowing 3 runs in the process. Jones only tallied three strikeouts, down from what we are used to seeing from the talented rookie.

Jones was ambushed in the 3rd inning (after cruising through two) giving up back to back homers to Thairo Estrada and Mike Yastrzemski. A third was added as LaMonte Wade Jr. hit a sacrifice fly.

Another slow day at the office for the Pirates bats, despite getting the leadoff hitter on a number of times.

Hopefully Rowdy Tellez is getting on the right track, he collected two more hits today and scored a run in the 9th.

Jared Triolo drove in both runs, one in the 6th and one when the Pirates threatened in the 9th.

The Pirates end up dropping 2 of 3 in San Francisco, and now head across the Bay to face to face the Oakland A’s.

The A’s are getting back from a 10-game road trip where they were swept by the Guardians, but split 4 games with the Yankees, and took a series from the Orioles.
