Bailey Falter didn’t have his best stuff tonight, but I’m not sure it would have mattered much if he did.

The bats just continue to be silent. Virtually no production from the bottom third, and the players they rely on for slugging just aren’t coming through.

Ke’Bryan Hayes singled to start off the game, but that would be the only hit the Pirates could muster until Oneil Cruz singled with one out in the ninth inning.

It looked like they would have a chance to really get to A’s starter Joe Boyle, but after some control issues in the 1st inning which lead to the lone run on a wild pitch, Boyle settled down and completed 5 innings.

Oakland just seemed to be barreling everything tonight, tallying five extra-base hits, including four doubles and a home run.

The Pirates will try to bounce back tomorrow at 9:40 EST against these same Oakland Athletics.

As always, joins fellow Pirates fans in the North Shore Nine Discord.
