The Pirates will look for their third consecutive win when the Baltimore Orioles visit LECOM Park this afternoon. The two teams will face off for the third time so far this spring, with the Orioles taking the first two.

Martín Pérez will take the mound for the first time as a Pirate. Pérez is looking to recapture his 2022 All-Star form after signing a 1 year, $8-million contract this offseason.

Jared Triolo will lead off and play shortstop this afternoon. While Triolo has never played there in the big leagues, he’s made 57 professional starts at shortstop across all levels.

Liover Peguero will start at 2nd base, looking to further his bid for an Opening Day nod.

Bryan Reynolds (1.250 OPS) and Ke’Bryan Hayes (1.182 OPS) had the day off yesterday, but are looking to continue their hot starts.

Other probable pitchers for the Pirates today:
Aroldis Chapman
Ryan Borucki
Josh Fleming
Dauri Moreta
Carmen Mlodzinski

Last time out against the O’s, the Pirates scored three first-inning runs against new ace Corbin Burnes. They’ll try to recreate that today.

The Orioles will send their former top prospect and 2018 first-round pick Grayson Rodriguez to the mound. Rodriguez posted solid numbers in his rookie year (23 GS, 7-4, 4.35 ERA) and will be counted on to take another step forward this season.
