Editorial Standards & Corrections

How we report, what we disclose, and how we fix it when we get something wrong.

Last updated: July 6, 2026

Who we are

North Shore Nine is an independent Pittsburgh Pirates media brand built by fans, for fans. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Pittsburgh Pirates or Major League Baseball. Our analysis, opinions, and gallows humor are entirely our own.

Reporting and sourcing

We separate reporting from opinion. News items (roster moves, injuries, transactions) are based on official team and league announcements or credible, named reporting, which we attribute. Statistics come from the MLB Stats API, Baseball Savant, and other sources we credit on the page. Opinion and analysis pieces are clearly the voice of their author.

Sponsorships and affiliate links

NS9 is supported by sponsors and, in some cases, affiliate or promotional links. Sponsored segments and placements are disclosed where they appear. Sponsors never dictate our coverage, takes, or grades — nobody buys a good review of a bullpen.

Corrections

When we get a fact wrong, we fix it. Significant factual errors are corrected in the article as soon as we’re aware of them. If you spot an error, tell us via the contact page— include a link to the article and what you believe is incorrect, and we’ll review it.

Community standards

The forum and comments are moderated. Personal attacks, slurs, and spam are removed; disagreement about the bullpen is encouraged. Repeated violations can lead to account restrictions.
