Feel a ton better about the moves made today, but man, I’m really hoping there’s late trades reported for a starter and/or a bat
So I guess my question is, will there be any chance at finding a DFA gem or two to help the offense? Or are we banking on the offense getting back on track, especially when it gets healthier? Lefties still seem scary

So far with what they got it’s a B to B+ deadline. 4 arms. A serious attempt to fix the pen. They got probably the best reliever that got traded.
I like the trades, the message is clear. Hope this motivates the team to get back on track. It was a really tough weekend

I fear the Pirates have this ability to do just enough to pull me back in, just to slap me in the face. Like they’ll win a game in such a dominant fashion that I’m back in and then next series they’ll get shutout. Excited about the Weaver trade, but I’m prepared to lose this next series in tragic fashion.

Only reason they got Weaver for just Stafura is because they’re eating all of the $12M next year and paying the rest of the money for this year too. Mets were initially hellbent on Gray, Stafura, and more if they were going to eat ANY money.

One thing this front office needs to keep in mind is the effect today also has on future free agents. We already struggle to attract them to here and doing nothing when your team is 3.5 games out of a playoff spot at the trade deadline only further reinforces the organization's reputation.

Any trade involving Gray is going to depend on if he gets put on the IL or not. He got hit in his left hand twice and was pulled at the end of the inning after the second time. In a tie game.

Pirates aren’t likely making the playoffs. But NOBODY expected them to be .500 or better this year. If there are trades that can help get them to that point…I’ll be happy. I’ve only seen SIX non-losing seasons in my lifetime. But, if they gave if up a ton for someone DO NOT start crying like people did for the Archer deal (which ended up being for nothing really since Glasnow can’t stay healthy, Meadows sucks, and Baz is OK). Teams are asking for Gray, Stafura, and more for guys like Weaver.

49 games left. If we think 29-20 gets us in, we need to buy. It’s reasonable with our September schedule. That said, Keller and Ozuna are responsible for 28.5 million worth of payroll and finding a way to get them off this team with the least amount of financial hit needs to also be apart of the plan.
