Dollar Dog Night is gone, and Cody Kohlman and Nate Osler have thoughts. In the debut episode of Ahoy Matey!, the guys break down the Pirates’ 2027 promotional schedule, predict the mystery bobbleheads, and pitch some giveaways of their own. From a Lake Bachar wig to a talking Jared Jones bobblehead, the ideas only get stranger. It all ends with Cody and Nate putting their top three fantasy promotions head-to-head and letting Pirates fans decide who wins.
No Dollar Dog Night? The Pirates’ 2027 Giveaways Get Weird

With Cody Kohlman and Nathan Osler.
Chapters
Key takeaways
- 1
Scrapping Sugardale Dollar Dog Night is a mistake, and the only way it's okay is if the savings (estimated at $2.5 million or more) go toward a Brandon Lowe contract.
- 2
The Pirates will jump on the 'Hoist the Cone' trend a year too late. The gimmick should have died when they missed the playoffs, but they'll keep selling cone merch and make a bobblehead out of it.
- 3
The Pirates gave Ryan O'Hearn no giveaway even though he was their first multi-year free agent since Volquez. They should cash in with an O'Hearn promo in the last year of his two-year deal.
- 4
Giveaways that require buying a special-event ticket are bad, and that applies to every team in the league, not only the Pirates.

MLB The Show's developers 'don't know how to make a baseball game': same graphics every year, little more than a roster update.

Hello and ahoy to everybody. Welcome to the first episode of Ahoy Matey hosted by myself and Nate Osler. Nate and I just came together. We were like, let's just make a show. It's not about the X's and O's. It's not about the trade rumors. It's about the important stuff like today's episode. Yep.
The promo items. The Pirates released their 2027 promo schedule this past week and Nate and I were like, we got to talk about this. So Nate, let the people know what's going on with the promo schedule this year.
So a lot of stuff, Cody, has yet to be announced. Of course, you got your usual pup nights, the nights the Pirates usually lose. If you know me in the Discord, they usually lose on Tuesday nights.
So those will continue. Free shirt Fridays, of course, the giveaways. Well, Saturdays, beg my pardon. Family fun day as well, always. You got more pup nights. And then, of course, your Zambelli fireworks nights in April.
In May, you have more t-shirts. Family fun days. Again, even more pup nights. There's so many pup nights. They play on every single Tuesday, it seems.
A couple more. You got a drone show to celebrate Superhero Weekend. Your first bobblehead that's still a mystery. You have another family fun day and yet again, another pup night on May 25th to wrap up the month of May.
We go to June. More fireworks. More bobbleheads yet to be announced. More family fun days. More pup nights. It's basically the same old, same old. Another free shirt.
July, though, we have the good old Bucko Luau that takes place after a pup night, of course.
So more pup nights and drones all day. Also, after the Bucko Luau, literally the next homestand weekend, it is Yinzer Palooza, which will also have your usual free shirt.
Your usual Yinzer Palooza themed bobblehead. And, of course, to wrap it up, a pup night the following Tuesday.
And then we go to August. You have your country weekends, your pup nights, la-di-da-da-da.
And then September, same old, same old. And then Clemente Day, of course.
And then the official favorite of a lot of Pirates fans, as it is a well-known holiday, fan appreciation weekend, as it is always, the last weekend of baseball we will see until the next year.
Because, as we know, there's not a lot of playoffs at PNC Park.
Hey, we got to keep our hopes up. That's another thing about this show, Nate. We got to keep the fun vibes. This is a fun show.
Also, fan appreciation weekend is brought to you by Sheets. I had to make sure to put that in there.
no free ads, but yes.
As a plant, I must do plant things.
So, you're going through all these days, right? You got to love them all.
we'll talk about our predictions for what we think these bobbleheads are going to be.
But the main thing that stands out, Nate, there's a big hole in that promo schedule.
Oh, I was missing something?
It's a giant hole. You weren't missing it. The Pirates are missing it.
It's Dollar Dog Night.
Oh, yeah.
The Sugardale Dollar Dog Night has been scrapped, and I am not happy about it whatsoever.
How do you not have a Dollar Dog Night at a baseball game?
Hot dogs and baseball are as American as apple pie.
As American as baseball.
And you don't have a Dollar Dog Night.
I'm just very disappointed in that choice.
as a picky eater myself, I have been bullied by Jim when we went to Cleveland because I didn't eat a sandwich.
Even though the grilled cheese I had in Cleveland, everyone in the truck, Jim, DiNardo, Alex, and Tyler, all said, I wish I got the grilled cheese sandwich.
Meanwhile, there's a social media post, and the Discord's going to run amok because Jim's saying, Nathan won't eat a sandwich. He got a grilled cheese.
Well, guess what?
Us picky eaters, including myself, weren't really fans of hot dogs.
I have tried a hot dog before.
It made me throw up.
I'm not going to do that on the show or this program.
But it was not a pleasant experience back in the day.
Now, I understand why people were upset about this.
Facebook, oh my gosh, Pirates Facebook, run amok, everyone was mad.
Pirates Twitter, oh my goodness, everyone was mad.
And I sure hope, Cody, with the lack of Dollar Dog Nights, I hope they put this Dollar Dog money towards the Brandon Lowe contract if there is one.
Hypothetically.
That's the only way I can be okay with it.
Right, Nate?
Like that's, how many days is that usually in the year?
You got to think about that.
Think about how many hot dogs are, every Thursday.
So every Thursday home game, how many Thursday home games are there?
How many hot dogs do they usually sell on Thursday home games?
I would assume that saves them at least $2.5 million, not doing Dollar Dog.
That's my professional, uneducated opinion.
That is, that's where the money goes, right?
Like you brought it up, but it's got to be.
If it's not, at least, I don't know, give me some nice promo items, you know?
Maybe that's where the money goes.
No Dollar Dog Nights, we get nicer promos.
For your lack of Dollar Dog Nights, you can go to one of 10 Pup Nights.
There you go.
But they'll probably go 0 and 10 on those because they always lose on Pup Nights.
What's so special, what's so special about a Pup Night, though?
You just, you got to make sure you don't, you got to make sure you don't step in some poop.
as a proud new doggy dad, I have no problems with Pup Night.
But like, my dog wants a hot dog, and he wants it for a dollar.
He doesn't want to pay $5.50 for a hot dog.
Now, I've always wondered this before we get sidetracked.
I've never attended a Pup Night as much as I joke about it.
Where do these dogs go to the bathroom at PNC Park?
I have no clue.
Are they taking a dump in the bullpen?
I feel like there may be an area, but at the same time, it's like, is everybody just congregating to one area?
That's what I want to know, like, honestly.
Because that's a disaster.
Every time they say, like, show the dogs on the stream, Greg Brown, Joe Block, whatever, they're talking about the dogs.
And we all know the infamous picture of Greg Brown pointing at all the dog breeds and all that stuff.
They never show, like, in the video, anyone holding, like, a doggy bag to clean up after their dog.
Like, these dogs are drinking water, I'd hope, at Pirate Games and eating at Pirate Games.
Honestly, though.
I have no clue.
If people watching this after the fact, if you're still watching this by now, somehow, some way, if you've attended a pup night, please let me know this.
Like, this is actually, I'm intrigued.
Because this is something, this is a question I think a lot of Pirates fans are too scared to ask.
Right.
And me, as a new, proud dog owner, I'd like to know.
I need to know this before I go in.
Like, when I bring my dog on a Tuesday night, I gotta know if, where can he go to the bathroom?
Because he's a puppy.
He's a young guy.
His bladder ain't that big.
I can't think of too much grass areas at PNC Park either.
No, just over there by the, it's a lot of concrete.
A ton of concrete.
It's a lot.
Is the baseballs with the retired numbers, is that inside or outside the stadium?
No, that's along the Riverwalk.
So, yeah, I don't know.
They gotta be putting turf pads up somewhere.
But, and also, like, watching a pup night game, I never hear dogs barking on the broadcast.
Like, there's no howls.
Right.
My dog would be running amok, just barking at people like crazy.
Like, going nuts.
I can't even, like, let him out at my house right here.
He'll just go crazy.
I couldn't imagine him with 5,000 people, because let's be honest, how many people are going to a Tuesday night pirate game?
Not 30,000.
You're a typical two to five.
But, yeah, it's a good question for a pup night.
One of ten.
So, if you attend one of the ten pup nights this year, one of those Tuesday night games, my favorite games, if you know me in the Discord, yeah, go join the Discord as well.
But, yeah, it's a good question about pup night.
But, yeah, no hot dogs.
It couldn't faze me enough.
I'm a picky eater, like I said.
I know you're mad about it, but I know the people are mad about it.
All I know is the lack of hot dogs.
People need their glizzies.
They need the glizzy exposure or whatever it is.
All right.
Hey-o.
Hey-o.
I know Bucko Mike in the Discord really likes the glizzies, so.
Hey, I'm a fan of a glizzy myself.
I don't go – if I go to a baseball game, that's what I'm getting.
There's an infamous video out there.
I don't know if we've ever posted it, but it's of me and DiNardo arguing about the size of glizzies and which one is worth the money.
I think it was – they ran out of – we were in Bradenton.
They ran out of large or jumbo hot dogs, so they gave me two regular hot dogs.
And I was like, this is such a better deal.
Getting two regular-sized hot dogs is a better value than a jumbo dog.
And DiNardo wasn't having it.
He was like, you're an idiot.
And I'm like, I'm getting two hot dogs.
And two hot dogs doesn't instantly mean a jumbo dog.
Of course.
It doesn't – and I'm like, I think you're dumb.
And he's like, I think you're dumb.
And the videos out there, it's very poor lighting because we were like on the bay or the gulf and there's no lights.
But I'm sure after we've discussed this, it'll be out there probably in the Discord.
I have a video though that when we went to Cleveland before we move on to the next topic because I think we're having enough glizzy talk on the broadcast here.
When we went to Cleveland, you weren't on this trip, but they had this hot dog.
It was a massive wiener, DiNardo called it.
His words, not mine.
And it had like mac and cheese, Froot Loops, and like mustard on it.
I have a video of him eating it.
Froot Loops.
Yeah.
I'll put it over this in the edit so people can see this because it was supposed to be for the socials, but it was really awkward with me.
He was standing in the middle of the concourse, and I'm just doing this.
You're DiNardo, and I'm like, eat the hot dog.
Eat it.
And he's like, record this.
Record this, Nathan.
Record me eating this hot dog.
And I have this video on my phone now.
DiNardo just eating a hot dog and Froot Loops falling off.
And I'm like, oh, I need to – I'm going to share.
I'll put it on this video in the post.
Nate, I'll say that's not the first time DiNardo has yelled at someone to film him when he puts meat in his mouth.
Let's move on.
I've also been victim to that.
Let's move on.
Moving on.
Moving on with that one.
Bucko Mike's on field day.
Nate, we have three bobbleheads that need names, subjects.
They need to be made.
So we have three of them.
One of them is a Yinzer Palooza special.
What do we think these bobbleheads are going to be?
Realistically.
Do we want to start with the first – okay, so here's the theme of the bobbleheads, if this helps.
The first one is Superhero Day.
It's on a weekend.
It's a Saturday, May 22nd, against the White Sox.
The second one is a normal bobblehead day.
It's against the Blue Jays, Saturday, June 5th.
And then the final bobblehead, of course, Yinzer Palooza, Saturday, the 24th, against the D-backs.
I guess we could start with Yinzer Palooza, since you brought that up first.
So I'm thinking realistic ones.
So we're going to get into our dream promotions after this.
And, of course, as we go, make sure to comment down below and help us.
Give us your thoughts.
And maybe we'll bring up some of them in the next episode.
Or go at them on social media and post them after.
But make sure to leave your comments, what you want them to be, what you think they will be.
The first one – well, the third total bobblehead for Yinzer Palooza.
The Pirates give me the vibes of getting on a trend late.
As we saw last season with the cone.
They didn't introduce an ice cream cone, themed cone, until the final month.
Until, basically, the final two homestands.
When they – I think it was they gave away a PNC-branded traffic cone, and it came in – the cone came in that – in the cone.
I think they're going to do a hoist the cone bobblehead a year too late.
And they're going to do it as the last bobblehead at Yinzer Palooza.
Now, I thought about it.
I don't think they'd give Billy Cook a bobblehead.
No offense, Billy Cook.
I think it's just going to be the pirate parrot hoisting the cone.
But it's got to be Billy Cook.
I went to a WWE night a while ago.
You see how the Yeet – they did the Yeet special event?
Oh, there you go.
The bobble part is going to be the cone just going up and down.
It's going to be the parrot.
Instead of Yeet'ing, he's going to be hoisting the cone.
But I think it's because the Pirates give me the vibes.
They're going to get on the trend way too late when the gimmick should honestly be dead by then.
Because teams, when they do these gimmicks, let's be honest, it should last one year.
The Pirates didn't make the playoffs.
The gimmick should die.
No, being as kind as possible.
Hot take, but I think you're right.
Being as kind as possible with that.
The gimmick should be dead.
But the Pirates give me vibes that they're going to keep the gimmick going.
They're going to keep selling the cone merch.
And it's going to accumulate whatever with a bobblehead hoisting the cone bobblehead.
It's just going to be the pirate parrot.
It could be Billy Cook.
But I think it's just going to be the pirate parrot hoisting a cone.
That's going to be the third bobblehead.
That's going to be your bobblehead Saturday, July 24th.
And Nate, to give your theory some validity, I think you're right.
Because they started selling cone merch before they even did the hoist the cone.
Like this was all, they knew they were doing this.
It was all there.
It was on Fanatics.
I made a video about it.
Everybody made a video about it.
Everybody knows.
And I think they were trying to cover it up.
They did a, reverse 180, whatever.
And they're like, you thought that was a mistake.
We've been sitting on cone merch for years.
They went outside of Federal Street and saw a traffic cone in the street.
It's like, oh, that would be a good idea.
Let's hoist a cone.
Right.
Now, my prediction is a little more realistic and a little more sentimental to Pittsburgh.
they love their celebrities.
And we've had in the past multiple musicians get their own bobblehead.
You had Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifa.
I think we throw it back this year and do an in memoriam for Donny Iris.
Okay.
I think Donny Iris gets his own bobblehead posthumously, a Beaver County legend.
It just, it makes sense.
And it's going to sing Aaliyah, however you want to say that.
I'm not super familiar with Donny Iris' music, but that's the one hit he had.
And I'm like, that's a great song.
Hey, I'm with you.
I don't know too much of his music, but that would be a good bobblehead.
But that would be great.
Like, after last year, there's a lot of people that didn't like the Dr. Robbie bobblehead.
Now, me personally, I'm a big fan of the pit.
So I like the Dr. Robbie bobblehead.
But I could see them being like, all right, that was a, swing and a miss, check swing, foul ball, you know.
Let's go with something we know everyone's going to love.
And it's going to be Donny Iris.
It just makes a lot of sense.
That's how you win over the fan base, is you pay homage to the people of Pittsburgh.
And that's how you do it.
I was really worried whenever you said a music bobblehead, you were going to put like five of the Clarks on a bobblehead.
Well, we could do that too.
They're releasing a documentary.
Oh, geez.
Fayette County Staples.
The Clarks.
Yeah, let's go.
Oh, the Clarks are great.
Fayette County's finest, as I like to say.
Hell yeah.
There's not a lot of that.
Let's be honest.
Moving on.
Do we want to do the superhero bobblehead, which is bobblehead one, or just the normie bobblehead?
Yeah, so let's do the super herb.
Yeah.
What do you think?
Let's do the normal one first.
Let's just do the no theme.
This is just bobblehead giveaway number two.
There's a Zambelli fireworks night the night before.
There's a family fun day after that.
Brought to you with an Eaton Park smiley cookie giveaway, of course.
So that would be an interesting concept for a bobblehead, just a smiley cookie.
But I'm going to give my first player bobblehead.
Now, this would be number two of the year, because my first one is also going to be a player.
I'm going to go with a momentous occasion that happened last season, and he didn't get a seat.
You took mine.
You took mine.
I know you did.
Now, how do you know if it's mine?
I got a feeling.
I got a feeling.
Now, they didn't give this player a single ounce of a giveaway last year.
They gave Brandon Lowe a jersey giveaway last season.
And he's going to be gone.
The other big guy they brought in, Ryan O'Hearn.
Yep.
Is this where you're going to?
Yep, exactly where I was going.
Well, Ryan O'Hearn had like a 10-RBI game, and this bobblehead is going to be the historic 10-RBI game, and they're going to make it an RBI counter bobblehead.
I want it to be interactive, like a ticker, so you can keep track of RBIs, and it could go up to triple digits, not just two.
But yeah, Ryan, it's going to be him either just holding the bat, swinging, like the Cruz one I have behind me way back there.
But yeah, I'm glad we thought the same wavelength here.
That was exactly...
I think he deserves a giveaway.
He was the two-year signing.
You added the RBI counter.
I did not think of the RBI counter.
That's great.
I love that idea.
That's not where I was going.
But yeah, we were right there.
No, I was just going to do a normal.
Oh, okay.
Ryan O'Hearn bobblehead said, like, I had the statistics from the game.
And I was like, thinking about this today, and I was like, why?
O'Hearn was the big two-year signing.
First multi-year free agent in forever since Volquez.
And they did the Brandon Lowe giveaway.
They did the...
Whenever everyone was scared, that was the City Connect jersey, if you remember that fiasco.
It was just a Sheets-branded kids giveaway.
They didn't do anything for O'Hearn, who was the first multi-year deal.
And this is going to be year two of two with Ryan O'Hearn this year.
Take advantage, Bob.
Let's make some money off of O'Hearn before he leaves.
Like, honestly.
He's going to be one of your better players.
Make some money.
But, yeah, I'm going to go with a O'Hearn 10-RBI game bobblehead.
I love that.
That would be phenomenal.
That's a game I'd have to fly in for to make sure I get that bobblehead.
But mine, now that you took mine, I do have a backup.
No, I got a backup.
It's okay.
We got to do a little variety here.
It's okay.
I think we go with the Texas Ranger himself.
Ooh.
Give him a little Texas.
obviously, we're not the Texas Rangers.
We're the Pittsburgh Pirates.
But do like a Lone Ranger bobblehead of Braxton Ashcraft.
Give him a little cowboy helmet or cowboy hat.
Give him a sheriff's badge.
Put him on a horse.
Make him look like Woody from Toy Story, basically.
Do a Disney theme.
We could go Disney theme, but I don't think Bob has the money for that.
Would you put this bobblehead on a horse and make the horse also have a bobblehead?
A bobble horse?
A bobble parrot horse.
The horse rocks.
The horse is actually the parrot.
I think that would be the move.
You're going to put Braxton Ashcraft riding the pirate parrot.
Yes.
This is getting insane now, but I like it.
But that's mine.
Do a Braxton Ashcraft bobblehead.
You deserved it.
He was the ace last year.
He deserves all the praise.
He probably wouldn't care that he has a bobblehead because that's his personality.
I think it should just be him with a straight face.
I think everyone else would just love it.
All the other players would be like, oh my God, they gave him the funniest bobblehead possible.
And he's just there just on the horse.
He's like, yeah, it's cool.
Whatever.
It's all right.
We got one more bobblehead though, Cody.
It's Superhero Day.
It is a Saturday against the, let's see here.
I lost it.
The White Sox, May 22nd.
So Superhero Weekend, I'm assuming it's going to be, it doesn't have to be superhero theme.
They do a lot of the special event tickets where you have to buy a ticket, not really through the Pirates.
That's how I got the WWE one.
But it wasn't a everyone gets one.
It was like you had to buy the special ticket for, which I honestly, let's be, as it might be a hot take.
I hate those types of giveaways when you have to buy an extra ticket.
It's not even just a Pirates thing.
It's an entire league thing.
Every team does it.
They do some cool ones, but yeah.
But Superhero Weekend, I'm going to keep it superhero themed.
I'm going to go with another momentous thing that happened last season.
And since it's the first giveaway, I want to do a Konnor Griffin Major League debut, him sliding or whatever, either into home or second base since he got that double.
Put a cape on him.
I think that'd be cool.
Or if you just want to do a random just Konnor Griffin Major League debut bobblehead, I'm sure he's going to have multiple bobbleheads, but I'm giving Konnor Griffin the first bobblehead of the year.
You know what would do numbers?
Let's hear it.
A Konnor Griffin Spider-Man bobblehead.
Obviously Spider-Man came out last summer, but like Spider-Man's timeless.
And you put Konnor Griffin in a Spider-Man uniform, that'd do numbers.
I like that.
I like it.
for me, I was, I'm thinking a little more literally and, one of my favorite comic book or not comic books, but like one of my favorite comic book characters as of recently is Invincible from Image Comics.
I know it's a little niche.
Not everybody knows what Invincible is.
Plain and simple.
He's a guy that's pretty much Invincible, but he just gets the crap beat out of him.
He, but he keeps coming back, typical superhero behavior, but it was like, he gets so bloodied and battered.
And I was like, who led the pirates and being hit by a pitch last year?
And it's Nicky G.
Nicky G.
Let's do a Nicky G.
Invincible bobblehead.
Put him in the suit.
Do the whole thing.
Have him, up and away.
But that's my choice.
I know it's a little niche, not as popular, but it just makes sense in my head.
I'm not going to lie, Cody.
I really want this just to see pirates Twitter's reaction to it.
Who is this guy dressed as?
Why is he in a bobblehead?
Who's this Invincible guy?
I ain't never heard of that guy.
Well, not just that.
Nick Gonzales, for some odd reason, is a very polarizing player on social media.
You either love him or you hate him.
And guess what?
I love him.
You know what?
Konnor Griffin can wait a year.
I want this Nick Gonzales bobblehead.
The bobble stash.
How about a bobble stash?
Oh, bobble stash.
Well, there we go.
Instead of dressing him up as Invincible, dress him up as Omni-Man.
It's Invincible's evil dad.
And he has a mustache.
I like it.
Played by J.K. Simmons, by the way, if you didn't know.
Love it.
Love it.
But there we go.
That's our predictions, what we would like to see from the bobbleheads this year.
But, Nate, me and you were going back and forth.
We're like, what are some weird, wacky promo items that we would love to see that'll never happen?
So I think we need to get into our list here.
Our dream item.
But we're going to save our three favorite ones for last.
And those are going to be the ones that you guys are going to vote for on socials, in the comments under this video.
You guys got to let us know who has the best three-pack of promos that'll never happen.
But, Nate, let's start with just our honorable mentions.
What are the ones that you would love to see that aren't going to happen but aren't your top three?
So my honorable mention.
Now, I'm also going to have some events, like an event at the end of my list.
I love it.
Because I have a dream event that I want to happen.
My honorable mention isn't as fun because it would take a – it's not really pirate-y.
It would say more so – I know people would love it, and I think it would drive people to a ballpark.
It's not as fun as my other ones that I have planned in my head.
I wanted them to actually partner.
And I think MLB The Show is a very polarizing video game for a lot of people.
I'm on and off of that game all the time.
I know it's very popular.
I play it all the time.
I know it's very popular in our chat.
I know it's very polarizing with their gaming community.
I think they should partner with every single team and do a free stubs giveaway at every game.
Well, at certain games.
Like one game a year, you buy a ticket.
No matter how much the ticket is, you get like 50,000 stubs.
That would be awesome.
You put in your ticket voucher.
I think it would be interesting.
it's not as fun as my other ones.
That's why it's in the honorable mentions.
But I have three other ones that I'm more proud of.
But I'm going to go with a stubs giveaway.
It could be randomized, too, to maybe if you're a big gambling guy, where no matter what ticket, it just spins a wheel.
It spins the wheel of like the least is maybe 10,000 stubs, good enough for a single pack.
But yeah, maybe it goes all the way up to 100,000 stubs.
If you get like, maybe you're in a nosebleed seat, you spin the wheel and boom, you're rich.
There you go.
That'd be awesome.
I know.
I'd love that.
That's my honorable mention.
As an avid MLB The Show player, even though I don't dip into everything, I literally only play Battle Royale.
That's the only game mode I play on Diamond Dynasty.
But that'd be a great giveaway.
That's awesome.
They should do that.
Pirates, MLB.
Grow the game.
Give Nate some money if you ever do that.
I'll just say it's not even just the Pirates.
It's just the San Diego Studios is just stupid.
They don't know how to make a baseball game.
It's the same graphics every year.
It's like we're still in 2008.
That is the problem with that game is it's just the same every year, graphics-wise.
Same old, same old.
Same old, same old.
It's a roster update.
That's all it is.
But Nate, you know what I want to see?
we got to know some of the new guys on the team that got traded to us last year.
One specifically was Lake Bachar.
Oh, you might be having mine.
Lake Bachar, he did an interview while they were in Milwaukee with Hannah Mears.
And he mentioned how he loves going to Milwaukee because he loves haunted houses.
He loves ghosts.
He's a ghost hunter, basically.
And, I was trying to think of, didn't want to go the normal route.
But we're just going to go the normal route and say we're going to do a Lake Bachar Ghostbusters bobblehead.
Okay.
Put him in the suit.
Give him the vector thing.
I don't know.
I'm not a Ghostbusters fan.
I just know what it looks like.
But give him the thing.
Give him the suit.
Give him the name tags as Bachar.
And then have, like, the pirate parrot dressed as Slimer next to him.
Okay.
I think that's nice.
That could be pretty good.
It gets that fan base out to the ballpark.
it would be much better than a lot of their recent movies, I think.
They should do that if they had a Halloween night, since there won't be a Halloween night ever at PNC Park, because October, of course.
But I don't even know if World Series games have theme nights anymore.
They do for teams.
No.
if there was a Halloween day at PNC Park, like, randomly in April.
Halloween in April.
Nice bobblehead.
There you go.
That's my first idea.
What's your next one?
Oh, so my top.
These are my three.
No.
We're still doing honorable mentions, unless you want to go to the three.
Do you want to go to the three?
I'm fine with whatever.
Honestly, I was just going to keep listing mine.
Like, I just have a whole thing in my head.
Keep going.
Let it roll.
I'll comment on them.
I'm going to jump to my dream event that I want to happen at PNC Park.
Okay.
Now, my biggest gripe, you and I are huge, and huge wrestling fans, Cody.
Yes.
Huge.
You and I forced everyone to watch Elimination Chamber at the Spring Training House.
No one else knew what was happening.
Maybe Jim a little bit.
You and I were literally sitting in the uncomfy chairs just like this watching the TV.
The most uncomfy chairs.
Yeah.
The most uncomfy chair.
But my dream thing that happened at PNC Park is they always have the WWE day.
And my biggest gripe when I go with a friend or something, the only WWE person they can get is Corey Graves.
And he's not even a wrestler anymore.
He's just the announcer.
And it is what it is.
It's whatever.
Let's go big, though.
It's summertime.
It's the summer.
The Pirates have a really nice ballpark.
My dream event is they're going to host a pay-per-view at Pittsburgh, at PNC Park.
Not Akersure, because you know what?
Akersure has an okay view.
But could you imagine the view?
The WWE.
They can fly advertisements.
We all know WWE loves their advertisements.
Put a bunch on boats.
Roll them through.
Project them on one of the buildings.
I want SummerSlam at PNC Park.
It's not a WrestleMania.
It's too cold.
I didn't go to Philly WrestleMania, but I know SummerSlam.
It was cold.
I was there, and it was cold.
I went to SummerSlam, though.
Could do numbers.
I went to SummerSlam when it was at the Cleveland Browns Stadium.
Not really a view there.
That place is a dump.
I went when it was in Jersey.
That place is an air conditioner.
It just looks like an AC unit.
It's awful.
You can't even see the city.
You can't even see the city.
Go to PNC Park.
Let's have a SummerSlam.
And let's have Roman Reigns, the tribal chief, because he's my GOAT, and I know he's a part-timer.
But you know what?
Big money.
Bob Nutting is going to give him a lot of money.
If there's a salary cap that has to go up and get the floor, give it all to Roman Reigns to have him throw out the first pitch.
Tribal chief's coming to town.
A bobblehead.
Acknowledge him.
The acknowledge him bobblehead.
The finger goes up and down.
Hear me out.
I don't hate it.
But, yeah, we're going to have SummerSlam at PNC Park.
That's my dream event.
And it's going to be big money.
Big money.
Hey, Bob, you got to, nudge Triple H over there, Bob.
I know you don't know him, but tell him, hey, we got a pretty nice ballpark here in Pittsburgh.
Give me something small.
I know Corey Graves is cool.
Get Kurt Angle to go to a Pirates game at WWE Day.
I've met Kurt Angle before.
He's awesome.
Get him to go out to PNC Park.
There's so much wrestling lineage in Pittsburgh.
Get him out there.
There is.
You could do Shane Douglas night.
Let's do Shane Douglas night.
Get Elias.
Elias night.
Ezekiel, if you know where.
Elrod, if you know the lore.
Get them all.
No, I'm going back.
Our Yinzer Palooza night should be Bruno San Martino bobblehead.
Ooh, yeah.
I like that.
How about Kurt Angle putting the Pirate Parrot in an ankle lock?
Oh, we're just, we could riff these all night.
Okay, that's my dream event.
I'll move on to you.
I don't want to keep rambling there.
All right, so we said these are our three, our three for everybody to vote on.
Yeah, whatever.
I still got a couple.
I just can't.
just go.
I can't hammer out my top three.
I got a couple more.
Okay, well, this won't be in my top three, but we're going to do an Ezmerlin Valdez Kids Magic Kit.
And all it is, all it is, hey, then bring a child.
I don't know.
I don't have a kid.
So, but the thing is all that's going to be in this kit is going to be a bat and a baseball and the instructions say, hit it hard.
That's a recipe for disaster in a pirate game.
That's a recipe for how you make baseball disappear, Nate.
I can imagine all these five-year-olds at PNC Park during the game when Ezmerlin comes up, there's whacking baseballs onto the field.
Hey, I've hit my fair share of baseballs onto the Riverwalk from the wiffle ball field that they have at PNC Park when I was, like, seven years old.
Awesome.
So, it's doable.
That's awesome.
There's a place for this to all happen.
But that's what I want to see is an Ezmerlin Valdez Magic Kit and just says, hit the ball hard.
Ball disappears.
Love it.
Love it.
So, the original plan for my three, I guess we can go into our three because I have three at the top of my head.
Let's do it.
I did want to put SummerSlam in my three, but it wasn't really a Pirates-themed thing.
It would be, like, a weekend.
Of course, they're not in town.
I'm going to start with a Lake Bachar giveaway.
Okay.
And not what you have.
It was something I joked about when we first got them.
Lake Bachar has awesome hair.
Really long hair.
Let's do a Lake Bachar wig giveaway.
Hell yeah.
Could you imagine everyone, if you're bald, you just have, like, locks going all the way down here?
Like, the Pirates could do something funny here.
We know they do a lot of dumb things.
But it would be really funny if they do a giveaway for a player like Lake Bachar.
Not really a superstar.
Not a superstar at all.
I don't know, like, a casual fan who thinks they know everyone could name Lake Bachar if you're a fan of, like, the Reds or something.
Pirates fans and Marlins fans know who Lake Bachar is.
Let's do a Lake Bachar wig giveaway.
I like it.
And Pittsburgh sports, they've been lacking a guy with a good mullet.
A good head of hair.
Now, it comes with a hat, too.
The wig is attached to the hat.
Okay.
That changes things.
Yes.
I was about to say, you could confuse this with a Troy Polamalu wig.
Ooh.
But that's what we've been missing, right?
Nobody in Pittsburgh sports has had a nice head of hair other than Cutch when he had dreads for a couple years.
I guess Jennings dunked it when he got drafted.
People were really hyped about him.
Yeah, but he also hasn't played well.
So.
Yeah.
Whatever.
Go to NS Steelers if you want that.
Yeah.
If that ever exists.
But yeah, I'm going to go a Lake Bachar wig or honestly a little thing that says Lake Bachar like as a lake.
I think that would be cool.
Rename one of the lakes to Lake Bachar.
Okay.
Okay.
How about.
I'm going to stick with Esmerlyn Valdez.
Okay.
And, we call him the magician.
He makes baseballs disappear.
And there's another famous magician that makes things disappear.
And you're like, oh, my God.
He made the Statue of Liberty disappear, actually.
And that's David Copperfield.
We're going to do an Esmerlyn Valdez ex-David Copperfield commemorative bobblehead.
Because this coming season, it'll be 44 years since David Copperfield made the Statue of Liberty disappear.
Okay.
So it's going to be a little.
It's elaborate.
We got to use our brains for this one.
It's niche.
It's niche.
We got to use our brains for this one, though.
It's going to be Esmerlyn Valdez with a box next to him and you move his arms and it makes the baseball inside the box disappear.
I like it.
Well, that's actually pretty cool with that aspect.
I think that'd be pretty sweet.
I like that.
My number two.
I'm going to go with a former player that has actually appeared on a podcast on here with me before last year.
We're going good old number 69, John Nagowski.
It's a legends bobblehead.
Now, it's not just going to be John Nagowski.
It's going to be him fighting Marcus Stroman.
Oh, my goodness.
It could be a bobble fist, a bobble push.
I think this would be funny.
Like, John Nagowski comes out to throw the first pitch.
But, yeah, I had to throw him out there.
He's a friend of the program now.
And we got to make sure we do it on the night we play the Mets.
Yes.
Or any team that – of course, the Mets.
I hate the Mets.
But, like, any team, if Marcus Stroman comes out of retirement or wherever he is now, I don't even know if he still pitches in the league.
Do it on a day he's pitching.
Screw it.
Yeah, just line it up.
Let's do it.
We're doing John Nagowski bobblehead day.
Hey, you know me.
I love my Pirates folk heroes.
I would absolutely want that bobblehead.
The box comes with the big number 69 on it.
It's not even a picture of the player.
It's just the number 69.
Hell yeah.
That's all.
In a big black box.
I love it.
That's great.
Let's see.
I got a couple options here.
All right.
Let's move away from a bobblehead.
Let's do a Luke Weaver poison ivy prevention kit.
Because, as we know, Luke Weaver, when he was acquired by the Pirates, somehow, some way, contracted some poison ivy.
And I think it would be hilarious.
You could do a whole promo video of him being like, here are the steps on how to prevent poison ivy.
Take it from me, someone who has learned their lesson.
Like, I think that would be great.
And obviously, it'd be, unfortunately for you, Nate, it would be another kid's giveaway.
Because, Pittsburgh kids, at least in the sub, in the, surrounding areas, we love to go hang out in the woods.
Don't, I, who knows what we do out there.
We try to make fire without knowing how.
We ride dirt bikes through trails.
That's just what we do in, like, Beaver County, Butler County, all those other counties outside of Allegheny County.
We're weird.
That's what we do.
We hang out in Mother Nature as children.
Yeah.
But they need this because I can't tell you how many times I got poison ivy as a kid, Nate, and there was no one telling me, hey, look for those specific leaves that look like poison ivy.
I had to learn the hard way.
So why not have Luke Weaver teach the children of the greater Pittsburgh area about the safety of being outdoors and looking out for poison ivy.
And for all those interested in Cody's Kids Day ideas, make sure you're on eBay with your scalpers selling them for $50 a pop.
They will be on there.
The line will be across the river on the Clemente Bridge.
I love that, actually.
That's really unique.
My final one.
I'm taking, I was going to make it a big bobblehead, but I had an idea pop in my head.
You remember the, my favorite giveaway, everyone's fan favorite giveaway.
There's even some of these on eBay from a Kids Day giveaway, but this won't be a Kids Day.
This is going to be just a normal giveaway.
Everyone gets one.
some of them might be unique.
They might be special ones like metallic or gold.
They're going to be mystery figurines, just like the Jared Triolo figurine for the gold glove, the infamous Jared Triolo one.
But this is going to be we're going to do it on Yinzerpalooza weekend.
We're going to celebrate a former head coach that loved going 10 and seven every year and losing the first round of the playoffs.
It's a team down the road that everyone's like, this is the greatest team ever.
They haven't won anything in how, who knows how long.
We all know where I'm going with this.
We're going with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
We're going to show some appreciation to Mr. 10 and seven himself, Mike Tomlin.
Now it came out a couple of weeks ago or a month ago that Sir Tomlin, before starting Sunday night football, since he's come out into retirement, he loves playing Minecraft.
It was the whole thing with his Minecraft city.
There was a big video.
It was actually pretty impressive.
I was like, no wonder we went 10 and seven and lost in playoffs every year.
He spent too much time working on flooring plants for every single one of these houses.
Pretty sick stuff.
It's going to be a mystery figurine that's given out.
There's only going to be, these are going to be really intense on eBay from the scalpers.
People are going to be walking around with Mike Tomlin, Minecraft villager, Minecraft skin figurines, beg your pardon.
So how it's going to work.
It's going to be the Mike Tomlin Minecraft skin that he uses.
Okay.
Some of them are going to be gold.
There's going to be like two golden ones.
Actually, we're going to do 10 goldens for 10 wins, seven silvers for seven losses, and everything else is just normal.
There's going to be some special edition ones.
These are going to be on eBay, every single one of them.
People are going to sell them unopened because they think they're going to have the one of the one of 10 gold metallic Mike Tomlin Minecraft skin figurines.
Why do the Jared Triolo gold glove figurine again?
Let's make it unique.
Let's celebrate a guy that's been a coach forever now on Sunday Night Football, of course.
But there's been no playoff wins for who knows how long.
Will Mike McCarthy and maybe we'll give Mike McCarthy a figurine or a bobblehead.
A bobble belly, you could say, for Mike McCarthy.
Like YA Black.
But we're going too far onto Steelers, NS Steelers.
NS-11.
Yeah, NS-11.
NS-11, that is.
But yeah, we're going to do a Mike Tomlin Minecraft skin giveaway.
Tomlin's going to come out and throw the first pitch, too.
Maybe Dino Tomlin.
Who knows?
But they're going to play, post-game, they're going to play Minecraft on the Jumbotron.
Because, of course.
Okay.
As someone that doesn't play Minecraft, I would go for this just to laugh my butt off.
But yes.
As you can tell, I have thoughts about Mike Tomlin.
Is this like a Tomlin peace offering to the city of Pittsburgh?
This is my, I was tired of things, how they were, and releasing my frustrations to the world.
The wrath of, as they call me, NNO in the Discord.
If you know what NNO means, I'm not going to say it on here.
But NNO in the Discord.
This is the wrath.
Evil Nosler, as I was called before.
Evil Nosler.
Okay.
We're doing Mike Tomlin giveaways.
All right.
Not terrible.
I'll knock you points for it being football related, but.
It's Yenzer Palooza.
They did a Dr. Robbie bobblehead.
They did.
Dr. Robbie's great.
And they talk about Roberto Clemente in that show.
I've never seen the pitch.
Ever.
In my life.
You got to watch it.
You got to watch it.
And you have to watch the entire series in one sitting.
Or at least one season in one sitting to really feel the anxiety of the show.
Because let me tell you.
That show is crazy.
I've heard about it.
I just haven't watched it.
Well, Nate.
Let's hear the final one.
My final one.
It's one that I really think they should do.
But they would never do it.
I want a Jared Jones bobblehead.
Okay.
But I want it to talk.
You want to know what I want it to say?
Some of Jared Jones' greatest hits.
I wanted to say.
I just feel really hard right now.
That's a good one.
I wanted to say.
What the fuck?
There's a quote.
I'm allowed to say that.
It's a quote.
Yes.
And I wanted to say.
I'm thankful.
I'm so tall.
I think the first quote.
Is a recipe for really funny things.
I also do.
I just.
You know.
It's like.
It's like.
It's.
You know.
We already brought up.
Woody from Toy Story.
That's basically what this would be.
But with Jared Jones quotes.
Of course.
Put the pull string in the back.
I like that.
I like unique.
But that's my.
That's my third one.
Now make sure the bobblehead doesn't die though.
Because my Bednar bobblehead.
That plays a renegade.
It went.
It released its last renegade.
A couple of years ago.
It was really sad.
How it did.
It was like.
The jig.
Yeah.
My Wiz Khalifa one doesn't sing black and yellow anymore.
So.
Yeah.
That sucks.
It sucks.
I like that.
I like that.
But anyway.
Let's.
Let's.
For the people.
Let's recap.
My three.
Were.
Jared Jones talking bobblehead.
Magic kit.
And.
Or no.
No.
No.
Sorry.
It was the Esmerlyn Valdez.
David Copperfield commemorative.
Disappearing baseball bobblehead.
And then we had the Luke Weaver poison ivy prevention kit.
And yours were.
Number one.
The mystery Mike Tomlin Minecraft villager 10 and 7 themed bobblehead.
Or figurine that is.
The.
What was it?
The John Nagowski times Marcus Stroman fight bobblehead.
The bobble fists.
You could call it.
Bobble push.
And then number three.
We're going to do a Lake Bachar wig giveaway.
That comes with the hat attached to the wig.
But yeah.
Those are my three.
Of course.
If you're like the honorable mention.
Summer Slam in Pittsburgh.
For you wrestling fans.
We're getting Summer Slam in Pittsburgh.
I love it.
I love it Nate.
I love.
Ahoy matey.
I think this is going to be a great show.
Just talking about all the fun stuff.
Surrounding baseball.
Not getting into the X's and O's.
Not getting into the trade rumors.
Any rumors that we get into.
Are going to be.
Hilarious.
